The term Gamification has entered our daily lexicon, referencing how video games and pop culture continue to influence our millennial inspired lifestyles. The visual language and behavioral aspect of gaming has filtered down into much of design and consumer behavior. Technology has allowed for competition and game-like formats to enter into everything that we do; it’s entered the Corporate and Education market sectors in a big way. Marketing and branding of all sorts of products has also taken this approach, appealing to Gen Z and Millennials, who are comfortable leading digital lives on streaming screens and never want to grow up. This influence can be clearly seen with color, form, and materials leaning towards cartoon-like shapes and a bright, youthful palette in interiors, fashion, art, and other areas of design.
