Scratch Art Made By Students Inspires Mixology Patterns
Flooring to Inspire Learning: The Mixology Collection
Who better to create the next flooring design for the education market than talented, artistic students? And, what better medium to inspire patterns than scratch art? We combined both concepts in our SCRATCH ART Design Contest, which solicited help from K-12 students across the country to create the next design in our Mixology Collection.
A panel of seasoned carpet designers chose the best of the best from an extensive pool of creative submissions. Ultimately, Andi Rozelle of Holy Spirit Preparatory School in Atlanta was selected as the winner of the competition. Her dynamic design translated beautifully into one of Mixology’s newest patterns, Posture. Carpet tile featuring Andi’s original design was donated back to her school library where it has created a brighter learning environment for all who encounter and interact with the space.
Mixology uses bright, multi-colored end-of-lot yarns, which are given new life in strikingly beautiful carpet rather than being down-cycled into other industry products. Mixology is the perfect collection to combine the textures and vibrant colors typically seen in scratch art.
