Manufacturing Visionary Award

Posted by in Discover, Meet Mohawk |

Recently, we participated in the 9th annual Living Future unConference in Seattle, Washington. The unConference is the forum for leading minds in the green building movement. The International Living Future Institute (ILFI) is growing in influence, and now administers three initiatives including the Living Building Challenge – the most aspirational green building standard in the world – the Living Community Challenge, and the Living Product Challenge.  Over the past two years, we’ve been working side by side with ILFI to spread its revolutionary message throughout the world. Declare labels provide a clear ingredients list for building products and a quick assessment of whether or not the product is free of red list materials, helping customers easily and confidently make conscious, informed decisions when specifying products.

Manufacturing Visionary Award

At the unConference, we were recognized for our commitment to the ILFI’s mission, as well as leadership in the manufacture of products that contribute to a healthy environment. ILFI presented Mohawk with the first Manufacturing Visionary Award. We have been focused on our work in product innovation and providing transparency. With our number of Declare labels at 18, we are growing that number across our commercial offerings.

“We recognize Mohawk for being the first company to have Declare labels across all of their soft surface product lines (and the most of any company), promoting the message of transparency and responsible formulation to all design firms and clients across the nation,” said Jason F McLennan, CEO of the International Living Future Institute.  “Mohawk is a powerful partner in our efforts to create a Living Future, showing leadership and commitment to our core message in many critical ways.”
